Package: ttytter
Version: 2.1.0-1~deb7u1
Severity: normal

Hello!

During regular use of TTYtter, the following warning appears occasionally:

-- rate limit rate failure: using 180 second fallback

TTYtter continues to function normally after the warning is shown.

I believe TTYtter has been updated at the upstream source, but the version
number was not incremented.

Comparing the /usr/bin/ttytter file from the package with the version
downloaded from http://www.floodgap.com/software/ttytter/ shows some slight
differences.

While researching this problem, I also found two other websites with what seems
to be relevant info:

1. https://gist.github.com/aaronbieber/7027104 - This details how to fix the
"rate limit rate failure" error.

2. https://github.com/atomicules/TTYtter - This is a GitHub repository started
by someone wanting to save a history of TTYtter. It says: "In the process of
compiling this repository I noticed that TTYtter had indeed been updated as
recently as 14-Jan-2014 (making ssl=1 the default; and a few other small
changes) it's just that the version number was not changed from the
27-December-2012 2.1.0 release." The "other small changes" link
(https://gist.github.com/atomicules/8699347/revisions) lists the same changes
as when I compare the package version to the official version from floodgap.com.

Would you please investigate and update the software if warranted? If updated
to the latest official version of TTYtter, bug #736446 will likely be fixed as
well because ssl=1 becomes the default.

Thank you,

-- Neil
