Fix works for the original issue as reported, installations on Debian Testing. Also works for wheezy to jessie to sid.
Note that RC1 for LedgerSMB 1.3.40 is now out and the release for it is expected "soon", so the plan now is to release the fix for this with 1.3.40-1.
