Package: base
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainers,

sorry not to assign a package. I don't know the right one.

The insertion of a CD is not recognized by the system. I'm used to get a pop up
window with the question what to do with a CD if I insert one into the CD
drive. This does not happen with jessie. If (a short time after inserting the
CD without action) I try to play the CD with VLC media player or grab the CD
with abcde I get the expected window. Also corresponding entries within file
manager (pcmanfm) occur at this moment.

There is a similar problem connecting a smartphone Samsung Galaxy Pocket as USB
storage. When connecting the USB cable two devices /dev/sdc, /dev/sdd are
created. At this moment they are not connected because of the handling at the
smartphone (This is o.k.). After connecting using the functionality of the
smartphone no pop up window occurs and there are no corresponding entries
within file manager. I can mount the devices as root but not as user.

The problems is not related to lxde/pcmanfm. I installed gnome and kde too with
the same problem.

I do not have the error with a wheezy live DVD. There the pop up window occurs
as expected.

Possibly it is important that the CD drive is an USB drive (I expect it is
connected using USB. It is the drive of an HP 2710p).

Regards,
Ulrich
