I let my laptop run with the default wheezy kernel for a couple of weeks and continued to observe suspend problems, I've also observed crashes at least once per day (kernel 3.2.0-4, amd64) Anyhow, I updated to the kernel package from experimental 3 days ago: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64 3.2.39-2 while everything else on the system is still wheezy. So far, I have not had one crash or suspend problem. I just want to emphasize that the experience I had with the wheezy kernel was not just buggy, it is a regression. I used a very standard squeeze install for a long time without the crashes or suspend problems. I understand some laptops have been quite OK with 3.2.0-4, others obviously not. Maybe this needs to be documented in release notes, so that people who do upgrade can make an informed decision or be aware that they need a non-standard kernel. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJRe++0AAoJEOm1uwJp1aqDgBkP/jLAw3pEKDNxqqGPY/nAY8Sp qMYn5jSjm+8Yfu98t74Rhw4xwvmp4XUoxT8yyT+OMAagAfIrjokJsnpaUBztLBsE h1rc+snKc3Q1XVaQjntTKPX1ojEGOSLuL25DF/PuJGqj6RabUCGbUCHT62P4Q5IZ VPePoHmeoEPTmcU5cwEG14MMEvqs+Pjk/2SfpIOORcjPYxTcWe+FuAyOzuEwf/Cb /C+U88wbjEn/nwbA4szB4cCAX/301cZu6lGeHuOnVhPPdmorBNEqRJ0oq/gL46u5 tW8weMHWpZVXn9EYf7edr0zLrcCfhoNAwop3g+J96krvYuBCYTP6T3FU8XVAM01H lgEaHy8kXSJdMDMLrMMf6g36YAcq9LROdSK50dYZyJXRYDJyLEtIs25CDXiwK0N7 M3pxg8la9MkLL4DwSy0Xfjo0GJcG6IXB3sTMgZo6Zt/ILHZhcCxFloe9jLSYxEbL gb47grw4YI49QHrHRZw/45AbYrOskzwWWuLkS/axPfub12UT3QtsbeqqijsFRUr5 JYIWHX1JFb4uyVhG3i6+kCarIjsP+0qOvv2h4OjghzugOn1NnrnV2QZA7p55peyS uK6IbtzfcVegcyvPG0k9XJh9lMIt8ZqQBAnEpmONgGueCj6hUMm3z8HdasF9f2BR ZTvF9a59Ur8+dZaOnWdq =s9NM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
