I would prefer this fix and it should not be problematic. The preferences program creates a user local configuration file when setting up the autostart symlink. Hopefully everyone who has created the symlink for themselves also have a user local configuration file. That would mean changing the default enabled/disabled state will not affect anything else. If you have time, please check with the release team if this is something they want uploaded now and if so it would be appreciated if you can (via a sponsor?) upload it as well. I will probably not have any time this week. PS.
