-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I am getting a similar behaviour: 1) Enigmail fails to sign or encrypt. In fact, it also fails to decrypt. 2) I get a similar error in the enigmail log report: 2012-12-12 15:39:18.005 [ERROR] enigmailMessengerOverlay.js: messageDecryptCb: caught exception: TypeError Message: 'Cc[NS_IPCBUFFER_CONTRACTID] is undefined' File: file:///usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/%7B3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6%7D/%7B847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5%7D/components/enigmail.js Line: 2167 Stack: @file:///usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/%7B3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6%7D/%7B847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5%7D/components/enigmail.js:2167 @chrome://enigmail/content/enigmailMessengerOverlay.js:840 @chrome://enigmail/content/enigmailMessengerOverlay.js:763 @chrome://enigmail/content/enigmailMessengerOverlay.js:674 @chrome://enigmail/content/enigmailMessengerOverlay.js:470 @resource://enigmail/enigmailCommon.jsm:1216 3) I have the same architecture (amd64) and package versions for icedove (17.0-1) and enigmail (2:1.4.6+id16-1). 4) I get the following errors in the icedove error console: Native module at path '/usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/{3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6}/{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5}/platform/Linux_x86_64-gcc3/components/libenigmime-x86_64-gcc3.so' is incompatible with this version of Firefox, has version 16, expected 17. Native module at path '/usr/lib/mozilla/extensions/{3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6}/{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5}/platform/Linux_x86_64-gcc3/components/libipc-x86_64-gcc3.so' is incompatible with this version of Firefox, has version 16, expected 17. Since upstream enigmail 1.4.6 is supposed to support thunderbird 16 and 17, the enigmail package contains the string +id16-1, and it was uploaded to experimental a couple of weeks before the icedove 17.0-1 upload, it seems very likely to me that only the files for icedove 16 were included, and so icedove 17 in unsupported by this enigmail package. It would be nice if somebody could upload to experimental a new enigmail package supporting icedove 17 (the upstream 1.4.6 add-on seems to work nicely with it).
