The glade file uses some gnome > objects, so it will only load in a GNOME enabled glade.
I've found the problem. It's probably some name changes that occurrend in recent versions of glade. Attached is a fixed journal.glade. I'll check if this problem affects any other .glade file in the package and will upload a fixed version of the package.
