You will need the whole release file, but you will only need to
install packages from sid that are required to meet the dependencies
of aptitude.

See the link on iguanasuicide.net from earlier in the thread on
setting up pinning and package priorities.

I'm not sure what you are seeing in reportbug here.  Is there a bug
you see that is fixed by the version in sid?
