What architecture is an xseries 305? What exact verion of the installer did you use (please give us the full URL where you downloaded the installer, including the filename.) I know for a fact that megaraid is supported for i386 with the RC2 version (I installed one myself last week :-) The best thing would be if you could file a complete installation report [1]. That would give us all the information we need.
