Up until the detection of the hard drives the installer worked well. However, the SCSCI controller, Adaptec AIC-7892P U160/m (rev 02) was not recognized and consequently, no hard drives were detected. I only have 2 SCSI drives connected to this controller. I then restarted the installer with boot option linux. Using a 2.4 kernel, the install went rather smoothly. I had several false starts in setting up my LVM for both disks with / on my LVM. I set up a separate /boot so that I could use grub. I see that there are bug reports with kernel-image-2.6.8-1 and aic7xxx that hopefully will be resolved soon. The installer is very slick.
