Hi, it occurs right after the partitioner has created the necessary partitions. The progress bar fills up to 100% for the last partition, and then this appears in white font with red background.
Mind, this only happens when using the Adaptec Controller. If I use the Qlogic one that was originally in the machine, I bump into bug 271444. The hardware should be good, though, since I used to run RedHat 7.1 on the Alpha machine, and the Adaptec was in a machine which dualboots between Win2k and Solaris 9 x86. best regards, Peter > On Tue, Sep 14, 2004 at 06:09:23AM +0200, Peter Van Rompaey wrote: > >> Initial boot worked: [OK] >> Configure network HW: [OK] >> Config network: [OK] >> Detect CD: [OK] >> Load installer modules: [OK] >> Detect hard drives: [OK] >> Partition hard drives: [E] > >> Comments/Problems: >> Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address >> 000000000000000c >> Kernel panic: attempt to kill the idle task! >> In idle task - not syncing >> Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address >> 000000000000000c > > Can you be more specific about where/when in the installer you get this > error? > > -- > Steve Langasek > postmodern programmer > -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
