Following some wisdom I've google(TM)d out there, I tried installing ALSA on the laptop (see the original posting on the bug thread for the specs). Sound works out of the box, except that it doesn't survive apm suspend/resume (i.e. after it happens, no app can open /dev/dsp, gets a device busy error).
However, from what I am reading in alsa-base bugs, e.g. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=266272 there are now apm suspend scripts packaged with the future versions (in unstable). So I guess if I just wait it'll propagate to testing and everything will be fine. V. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
