Hmm yes, I see what you mean. The same goes for nl_NL and nl_BE (and for de_LU and es_ES which I checked at random). There's really only the comment that you're supposed to use charset ISO-8859-15 and not ISO-8859-1. I guess the difference used to be in LC_MONETARY, but that contains just a reference to the basic config now. Maybe the transition period is over :-) and the @euro variants are only there for compatibility reasons.
