Here's /proc/cpuinfo for the 2.4 GHz P4. I was told by Frans Pop <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> that the kernel selection issue was because I was using the netinst CD image which only includes the one kernel image to keep the size down. I had actually anticipated this explanation. >From my original report:
> I fully recognize that having multiple kernels would take up valuable > space on the installation medium. Maybe selection of a correct kernel > should explicitly be part of base-config. What I didn't realize was that it may work better with the businesscard ISO and with the full debian CDs. I have not tested anything other than the 100 MB netinst ISO. Perhaps I'll try the businesscard CD on for next install. I believe this bug has already been closed, but I'll attach the information as requested. -- Jay Berkenbilt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.ql.org/q/ --------------- /proc/cpuinfo --------------- processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 15 model : 2 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz stepping : 9 cpu MHz : 2394.186 cache size : 512 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe cid bogomips : 4771.02 processor : 1 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 15 model : 2 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz stepping : 9 cpu MHz : 2394.186 cache size : 512 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe cid bogomips : 4784.12 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
