Retested with 20040420. Works perfectly now with GRUB! All options are shown and can be booted.
I've also tested with LILO this time. On first reboot, LILO booted almost straight into the newly installed system. It is not obvious that other OS are available. I checked /etc/lilo.conf and found that "prompt" was commented. I think maybe this option should not be commented _if_ other OS have been found (and maybe also the "timeout" option). This would show the boot menu with available OS listed. There were only 4 entries in lilo.conf - Linux - default boot & root (/dev/hdb9) - LinuxOLD - same (not loaded as there is no vmlinuz.old) - WindowsNT - /dev/hda3 - Windows9xME - /dev/hdb1 So my Woody (/dev/hda5) and unstable (/dev/hdb8) partitions are not added. Nor are the other entries in my old lilo.conf (like Memtest). Is this expected or a bug? The WindowsNT entry is my Windows 2000 system; maybe this entry could be renamed "Windows2kNT"? Cheers, FJP P.S. I also selected the 2.6 kernel image for the new installation; seems to work fine with my hardware at first glance :-) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
