I managed to install Skolelinux, with d-i a few days ago. Briefly I did the following: [1]insmod cciss right before choosing what Skolelinux profile to install [2] After first attempt to install kernel fails, edit /target/etc/fstab to use /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 as / partition, did this in chroot /target [3] Install kernel-image. [4] Edit /target/etc/fstab to use the old device as /-partition (not /dev/cciss/c0d0p1), did this in chroot /target [5] In chroot /target mkdir /dev/cciss/disc0 ln -s /dev/cciss/c0d0 /dev/cciss/disc0/disc ln -s /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 /dev/cciss/disc0/part1 then run lilo from Main-menu This works. I'm not sure how "correct" this way of doing it is, or if it is really stable, but at least I managed to install a new smp-kernel afterwards on this machine, which is a ML350 G3. The machine is not yet in production, so I can't say that this is a stable solution. The next thing is to get the new HP Systems Insight Manager installed, as soon as they release the linux version. So far I have briefly tried to get the Compaq Health driver installed, without success, <URL:http://www.sk-tech.net/support/cpqhealth.html> There is some bugreport on this machine in the Skolelinux-project, <URL:http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=589> All done in the spirit of "looks hairy, but it works". - -- Klaus -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE//9YxhJ+fXyb6R30RAt/WAJ4mzzRDr8dOeFrbCL6XTSrG0NtQJwCeJfvW rWiybB1TRqDmd83t5uPdovc= =DjBW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
