This is a very bad idea, because more and more modern hardware will require 2.6 kernels. If it's OK to support 2.2 kernels (!) for doorstops then if there is somebody willing to do the work we should officially support 2.6 kernels too, even if as a bf26 boot option. A few days ago I fixed most .o/.ko issues, only kernel/linux-kernel-di/ still needs some work.
