The effects of > didiscover --data-path --data-vendor > didiscover --data-path --data-model > are achieved with > discover -t --no-model > discover -t --no-vendor > The hardware detection part of debian-installer needs output strings in the form of "kernel-module:Vendor Info Model Info" (e.g.:"ide-cd:Linux ATAPI CD-ROM driver"). To get these lines the didiscover utility was added. I'm unable to produce these lines with the commands you recommend. As I understand the discover manpage you can either add display options or a --data-path option, but not both at the same time. What we would need is something like "discover --data-path=linux/module/name --vendor --model --format='%s:%s %s'". Is this possible with the current discover2?
