Thanks for following up on the bug report, definitely an improvement
over the MR, but I meant it when I said filing a bug report would be
best. The root cause is the same, that's a *different* issue though.

At this stage, I'd rather consider for a minimal-impact fix, that is
unsetting only when it matches the particular setting that's been
documented since at least 2004 via svn r21378 (unassigned-hostname).
