Hello everybody, I read aproximately three quarters of the thread, plus some of the reference documentation, and I agree that there is altogether a good agreement and that objections are adequately answered. Moreover, the patch set discussed here introduces the option "--no-merged-usr" to keep the old behaviour of debootstrap. So I think that Geert's objections are either answered or not valid.
