I guess there's a missing "C"? (Acer C720?)
debian-testing-amd64-xfce-CD-1.iso wkly build 1/19/2015
install screen appears, click on either graphical or non-graphical install -
screen flashes then goes back to seabios screen
1) this usb build works on macbook
2) debian wheezy installs on this machine
3) fedora 20 installs on this machine
4) fedora 21 flashes and does not work
thus sounds like something related to newer kernel or packages
This is likely. However, bisecting to find out what's happening without
the hardware would likely be tedious.
It seems there was at least some fun related to the backlight, see this
commit:
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=dfb3d47b2369ad752ab9f7438bbf9949524b46ae
The build you mentioned should have had this fix though (first appeared
in a Debian package with the 3.16.5-1 upload).
Cc-ing debian-kernel@.
Here is more info:
debian-testing-amd64-xfce-CD-1.iso (1/22/2015)
=> boots but when menu is selected, crashes back to seabios
debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso (1/22/2015)
=> boots but when menu is selected, crashes back to seabios
- now others have said they have installed with this (perhaps older kernel)
debian-testing-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso (1/22/2015) => installs fine
not sure if this is bug that should be reported or maybe posted on wiki
