boot-floppies version 3.0.18 'make check_depends' demands the builder to install utf8 libs when building b-f w/o language chooser: bash-2.05a$ make check_depends dpkg-checkbuilddeps checking variable dependancies didn't find slang1-utf8-pic didn't find slang1-utf8 didn't find libnewt-utf8-0 To install missing packages: apt-get install slang1-utf8-pic slang1-utf8 libnewt-utf8-0 make: *** [check_depends] Error 1 If the advice/demand is followed, the built b-f will be broken; (all strings are chopped at the first occurence of a non-english letter) If the advice/demand is ignored, b-f builds fine.
