In the first case, in the console I have a message like this: /dev/sda3 is apparently in use by the system; will not make a filesystem here. With LVM, the error is similar: Can't open /dev/sda3 exclusively. Mounted filesystem? It seems that something is using the partition, or didn't free it after operating on it... how can I see if there is some process using the partition?
