-- I choose to reuse partitions and keep existing data -- I manually

the data in non-OS dirs...
<Description of the install:
Over all a very smooth install; just no /data partition at the end
(mount point exists but doesn't mount.)
I tried installing it twice.
(I realize I can manually mount the partition but I feel strongly that
since I marked it specifically during installtion I'd expect the
Installer to do the mounting after rebooting -- should I just edit the
/etc/fstab or what? At present I see -
cat /etc/fstab

I heard a rumor there was an *old* way for /etc/fstab and a *new* way
for /etc/fstab -- apparently the new way is an empty /etc/fstab... So,
what do I change to get the partition to mount eveb with an empty
fstab?
Thx/Bill
