After much cursing and swearing, I just power-cycled the damn cablemodem
and that fixed the problem. I should submit that to the DHCP howto as
I've noticed quite a few unanswered mails and newsgroups posts with the
exact same problem.
Anyhow, you can close the bug. Sorry to have hassled y'all.
I will say that debootstrap keeps zombifying itself and it's taking
forever to just install the base system with wget timing out and
debootstrap dies.
INstead of relying on DNS load-balancing, wouldn't it be better to cache
a list of IPs valid for http.us.debian.org so that if a file isn't on
one it'll try another mirror instead of just killing itself? :-)
