It would have been nice to have a bit more time to comment on such a substantial patch, but well. I would strongly suggest to at least not actually _show_ ext4 as an option as long as not all blockers are fixed, i.e. not yet list it in valid_filesystems (IIRC). That will allow us to upload partman-ext3 if needed without having to worry about confusing users.
