Yeah, hopefully it's on par by the time we release. Right now, it's best to put the 
first foot forward and hope for the best. In a worst case situation, we can just back 
out of using reiserfs on big endian arches.

Again, it's not such a thing of disallowing as it is more important to discourage. 
Debian's installer has traditionally been all about flexibility.

I don't know about parted, but almost anything has got to be better than mac-fdisk ;)
