I think I've understood and followed correctly your suggested process, 
substituting the bootloader files by making a symbolik link to the 
original ones....

... but, at reboot, ssh and telnet access are no more available
nmap says that all ports are closed, the only way to access the unit is 
via the buffalo-supplied firmware updater, that says the unit is in 
"Emergency Mode", as no o.s. is present

any idea on what can be the cause?
