Hi all,
I am using a Western Digital MyBook 320 GB. One thing I like on it is the auto
spin down feature.
However, I can not get it to fully work without a USB hub with external power.
The disk is found by the system, but it is in write protected mode. I do not
understand why, as the HD has external power.
Since a cheep USB hub solved the issue, I have not looked deeper into the
problem.

It is expensive, but as it is USB powered there is no extra power brick,
cable, socket, etc required.
My Slug just stands on the drive; it is very neat, and almost silent.
