Indeed, I was testing in Sarge. As soon as I am able to progress with d-i with the unstable snapshot I will report back. For the time being I am set to try the cdrom initrd trick that Johny told me, but I am getting a hard time finding a dd-like utility in AmigaDOS that allows me to make the dump (xstreamtodev is not working for that). Maybe I could try doing it from NetBSD once I figure out how to print there the disk partitions (NetBSD changes partition order so it is really confusing and their fdisk doesn't support RDB).
