First test case: I restarted the date build on crest, carefully watching top, the build log and the kernel log. It does, in fact, freeze immediately when starting R: dh_installdirs usr/lib/R/site-library R CMD INSTALL -l /build/buildd/date-1.2.23/debian/r-cran-date/usr/lib/R/site-library --clean . * Installing *source* package 'date' ... top - 11:00:21 up 17:31, 4 users, load average: 1.50, 1.59, 1.49 Tasks: 50 total, 2 running, 48 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 58.7% user, 27.1% system, 0.0% nice, 14.2% idle Mem: 127516k total, 95532k used, 31984k free, 5464k buffers Swap: 495984k total, 0k used, 495984k free, 54436k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 7202 buildd 20 0 2960 2960 1568 R 64.8 2.3 0:02.74 R 6863 schmitz 18 0 1008 1008 792 R 9.8 0.8 0:34.14 top That's seriously sick ... > On another note: crest and kullervo are back up. The crest and kullervo chroots have been cleaned up, and q650 still hangs. I'll try the date build on q650 next, before resorting to aranym for further tests.
