I don't remember with whom I discussed this (and I'm too lazy to check right now), but I did :-) My point is that, having attended only 1 day of the main DebConf last year (+ some of DebCamp), I don't feel at ease at writing the usual DPL message for the report. Otherwise I would've written it a long time ago already! So I offered 2 ways out back then: (1) have a report without the Message from the DPL or, (2) someone---who actually enjoyed DebConf 12 more intensely than myself---ghostwrite a draft message for me and I review / finalize it. Normally, I wouldn't propose something like (2), but if you people feel like the DPL message in the report might be useful for sponsorship raising reasons, I don't see why not.
