We knew about this issue -- bigger companies normally work on a yearly budget cycle such that DebConf sponsorship needs to win a place in the budget during year N for us to get money in year N+1 (especially during worse economic periods, of course). We should certainly be making contacts with potential sponsors as soon as possible (I think we previously planned to start in August), *even without* full information being ready. Normally it will take a few attempts (at least) to find an appropriate contact person, then it's more better to set up a positive relationship (perhaps including some phone conversation) rather than just to fire-and-forget a sponsorship brochure -- and to try to find out what the organisation's cycle is for sponsorship, what extra information might be useful that isn't in the standard sponsor pack etc. -- Moray _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
