Current budget status: Right now, we have a 5k$ surplus (excluding travel and gov)
The gov support essentially amounts to about 10-13 k$ effectively (hard to know exactly since we don't have exact accom figures). However, I also am trying to use reconfirmed numbers now. We need money for: - 5k$ Random expenses - 1 k$ More people reconfirming (?) - 15 k$ travel sponsorship already allocated - 3 k$ more for travel sponsorship was requested Possible sources of future income: - 5 k$ extra from professional registration fees for accommodations. Since this is still in flux, I am not sure just how much this will be. This could also be realized from needing fewer rooms. - ?? k$ unclaimed travel sponsorship (no one yet, probably travel costs won't be lower than expected this year.) Most travel-approved people have reconfirmed already, so this is not as much as I thought. - 25 k$ DC11 surplus. The biggest variable now is accom costs, which hotels we'll use. I am assuming about 30$/night as the budget says now. So basically, we are "break even" if we exclude dc11 surplus and travel sponsorship. So you can consider all travel money to be coming from dc11 surplus. Recommendations: - spend as much of the dc11 surplus on travel as you'd like. Going to 18k$ like I suggested last time still seems reasonable. - Don't use gov hotels for conf, unless we get a good price. Anything above about 30$/night will be an additional expense for us. - Save as much money as possible, but don't stress too much. Normal caveats apply: This is all educated guessing. We usually spend less than we budget, so if history is any indication we'll have a much larger surplus than listed above. Perhaps this is mostly due to accom overestimation, which I am trying to get more exact now. - richard (historical note: this was sent right before we got final hotel quotes) -- | Richard Darst - rkd@ - boltzmann: up 1064 days, 15:28 | http://rkd.zgib.net - pgp 0xBD356740 | "Ye shall know the truth and -- the truth shall make you free" _______________________________________________ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
