The Crowne Plaza Convention Center is a really great location and it gets booked pretty fast.
We have backup plans, but that would mean to change drastically our proposal. Plan B is to use the conference rooms at Camino Real(0) or Las Mercedes(1), near the airport but far away from everything else. Plan C is to use one of the hotels in Carretera Masaya (Intercontinental Metrocentro(2), Seminole Plaza(3) or Hilton Princess(4)), all of them are very centric but also very expensive. Hotel rooms are in the range of +$60/night. This would only work if we have *everything* (or most of it) sponsored, eg. DC11 with government support. Another option, that was rejected in an early stage of our bid, is to use the Montelimar Beach Resort(5), 60 kms. away from Managua. It's great in the sense that we have everything included in one single place. Bad thing is that we would be stuck in a resort for two weeks with no options. So, as I see it, Crowne Plaza is the only way to go right now. My main concern is not getting all the spaces we need for DC12 if we postpone the decision.
