My Q is: is it likely to be feasible/sensible to use deal.II to analyse stress
during 3D printing within a resin bath, and to use it to dynamically add
support structures or modify printing parameters (eg speed which the actively
built face is pulled off the printing face) to avoid excessive traction force
and print failure.
In the end, deal.II is a tool for building PDE solvers, not for solving any
specific application. So, if you can describe what you want to do via what I
think is probably going to be a PDE-based open-loop optimal control problem,
then one can start thinking about the specifics of whether deal.II is the
right tool.
People do use deal.II for additive manufacturing simulations. Take a look
