[Dbmail] Migrating from 2.0 SVN to 2.1.x

I'd like to upgrade my current dbmail installation (2.0.branch in SVN) 
to the newer 2.1 branch. Is there something particular I have to do to 
to get 2.1 working, except download and compile the 2.1 package? I 
downloaded and compiled the 2.1.2 version from the homepage, but for 
some reason it didn't seem to want to start up properly (I'm using the 
gentoo startup-scripts along and the old dbmail.conf-file). Also, I 
tried to get the latest development version using SVN, but that seemed 
to be missing the configure script. So is it ok to just copy the 
configure script from the 2.1.2 package into the directory containing 
the development version?
