Quoth the one known as lou... > I dont know if anyone looked at http://lawmonkey.org/anti-spam.html. > Topic "Postfix, Amavisd-new, SpamAssassin, Razor and DCC" > I dont think it will be hard to work out how to impl dbmail in this setup.
Yes! This is an awesome howto and describes (much better than I could) how everything works. (I actually have spamassassin controllable from SquirrelMail using the SA-sql plugin, and anything over the threshhold gets sent to /dev/null; brutal but efficient, and the users are happy... but don't you do that at an ISP!) I'll try and document the (small) changes I had to make to SquirrelMail for the whole thing to work smoothly, but that amavisd-new/OpenBSD/DCC/Razor/SA setup is almost *EXACTLY* what rc.com runs. The only thing I have left that I want to do, is set up CRM114 (http://crm114.sourceforge.net/ ) and allow users to train it against the emails in the database which are theirs. (an ulterior motive for this is the CRM114 Usenet spamfilter someone wrote, which would be truly magical when applied for certain tasks on the rockclimbing.com (aka rc.com) forums) Everyone who is new to dbmail + anti-spam software should read the above howto, it is EXTREMELY well done. OpenBSD rules, the only reason I do not use it for rc.com's mailhost is that we settled on Linux due to RAID issues and database support (we're rather, uhhhh, centralized right now). -- Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.
