 * same issue with ~/0 here on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
 * LUA 5.4 not available
 * LUA version from Ubuntu repos is 5.3.3-1.1ubuntu2
 * builld with build.sh from current git master (git pull
   git://github.com/darktable-org/darktable.git)
 * used *option(DONT_USE_INTERNAL_LUA "Never fall back to the intree
   copy of lua" OFF)* in *DefineOptions.cmake*

    Now that's a bit of lateral thinking.
    I've done the same and the latest git master has stopped crashing
    and appears stable.
    Not a 'proper' solution, but does allow other new changes to be
    tested.
