Hibernation is not supported out of the box, in mint. Since kernel 4.13.
... , hibernation is a problem.
When you scroll the darkroom, Dt crashes... Did you overclocked the cpu?
You need to tweak carefully the core option cpu/gpu/memory even the
darktablerc, or you have a corrupted image files which crashed imagemagick.
Run darktable in a terminal.
