Hello,

I have a lot of pictures in RAW format that I want to load and edit in
GIMP. I found out that my Nikon NEF RAW files were first loaded into
darktable (dt) when opened in Gimp and converted into exr in the
background after closing dt and then opened as such in GIMP. All this
happens automatically and takes a lot of time.

So I had the idea to do the exr conversion on night automatically by
just calling darktable-cli in a loop over the files.

So I tested with the command  "Darktable-cli DSC_0027.NEF DSC_0027.exr".

I could load the resulting exr file into GIMP, but it looks different
than the file created when opening the NEF file in GIMP.

So, what's the magic behind it? Which parameter set do I have to use
with darktable-cli to get the same result.

By the way: When opening GIMP, I guess that the file

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/blob/master/plug-ins/file-raw/file-darktable.c

comes into play, maybe Tobias Ellinghaus could help here.

So, can you tell me how to convert with cli so that the result is the
same than opening in GIMP?

Regards

Frank
