the style that is produced by the vanilla darktable-chart contains not only 
parameter settings for the color lookup module but also other things, e.g., 
turning off the basecurve and creating a tone curve. I felt that this was not 
desirable for just converting the film emulation styles. 

Darktable-chart was tweaked in two ways:

* put only parameters for the color lookup module into the style.
* write more specific names and comments into the style file.

Then darktable-chart was then called with the --csv option where the input data 
was created by some python script from two images in LAB space.
