Luke 6:27 "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those
who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
29 If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If
someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you,
do not demand it back.
31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Where is anything about THINKING here? Jesus told us to be humble. After
all, we're tiny creatures on a tiny planet in a huge universe. Nothing truly
belongs to us - property is a social construction, useful in human
interactions.
How about
Luke 21:14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend
yourselves.
15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will
be able to resist or contradict.
Humility - the opposite of pride - is a main theme in the Bible. It has
nothing to do with "telling us what to think". [You might want to look for
other examples, though...]
