The analogy is rather interesting. Unless you physically remove the chips
from your mainboard, your machine will never "run out of memory". It can
never happen. What WILL happen, though, is that you'll have some uses more
important than others, and the more important uses will win over the less
important ones. Just like with any other resources.
There is NO WAY we could run out of copper, for example. It's all over the
world. There is no way we'll run out of energy, since nuclear energy is a
hugely rich source. There is no way we'll run out of food, since it's
renewable, and even without GM food the productivity is way beyond our
"needs". [Romania, which is an almost 3rd world country, has had
overproduction of grains since 1990. I suspect we could feed the whole
Eastern Europe if we had US technology.]
