While things have indeed changed quite a lot since our communist times,
Romania is still a socialist country - and, as I told Reese, unfortunately
it's not only the government, but 99% of the people.

As for how things were - for example, you couldn't be without a job. That
was a crime punished by prison. So you had to go where the state sent you.
[True, being fired was a highly unlikely event - you had to come drunk, or
to *visibly* do absolutely nothing.]
