But I would be interested in seeing the output of 'cygcheck Q.exe'

c:\Programme/Kx/q/w32/q.exe
  C:\WINDOWS\system32\WS2_32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ADVAPI32.dll
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\KERNEL32.dll
        C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\RPCRT4.dll
        C:\WINDOWS\system32\Secur32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\msvcrt.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\WS2HELP.dll

Also, double check that your ~/.inputrc hasn't changed.

What should / should not be in it for this to work properly? Indeed
I had to reinstall the whole Cygwin recently but I don't remember
ever making changes to .inputrc: I likely always used the stock
version.
