Yeah, I'm with you. Maybe I'll try putting back the CreateWindowStation
call
to be what it was and make sure I can reproduce the desired behavior. Yes,
a sanity check makes some sense to me at this point. :-)
You have reinstalled cygwin at least 14 times, right? This is a really
thorny problem so I think a whole bunch of reinstalls are called for.

Actually, what I did find is that "ignoring" the problem of
CreateWindowStation failing like the code used to do solves the problem
for me. I have to review the path that brought us here a little more
to see what the CreateWindowStation() changes were supposed to fix. I've
forgotten now (if I ever really had a clear understanding ;-) ).
