Just to recap some history: libm.a was once an empty file. It was also a link to libcygwin.a at one point. The current arrangement is the best compromise. >$ ls -l /usr/lib/libm.a >-rwxrwxrwx+ 1 Administ Users 218298 Mar 18 09:21 /usr/lib/libm.a The map file shows that it is not an empty file.
