Good question, and that produces an installation that seems to show more-or-less exactly the same set of problems, so this presumably is BLODA. I'm slightly surprised it's BLODA that seems to only affect 32-bit installations – my 64-bit installation is working just fine – but so be it; I'll continue to investigate on my end. Thank you!
