C:\cygwin\bin>cygcheck.exe c:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe c:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe C:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\ADVAPI32.DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\KERNEL32.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\RPCRT4.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\Secur32.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cygintl-8.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cygiconv-2.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cyggcc_s-1.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cygreadline7.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cygncurses-9.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\USER32.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\GDI32.dll As suggested I reinstalled all the mentioned cygwin dlls: libintl8-0.17-11 libiconv2-1.13.1-1 libgcc1-4.3.4-3 libreadline7-6.0.3-2 libncurses9-5.7-16 All other listed DLLs are obviously native Windows DLLs. But again, this does not change anything. Bash is still not started correctly.
